Start of the dry week...

In a last minute effort to make an end to the relentless drinking, pre-marital sex, and 3 week long hang-over, Pierre and I decided to take the oath for a week long dry spell. Already on the first day I am beginning to feel the effects of withdrawals. I spent all day with the shakes along with dizziness. I think I've gotten a total of 10 hrs sleep this whole spring break, and barely any recolition of what the hell I've done over the past week. The thing that sucks is that St. Patricks Day falls during this week. Will I make it through the week? We'll see! My roommate has 20 on it that I won't make it. I will keep you posted on the progress of it. Aiiiiiiiii!

Why don't you like me?...

It has come to my attention on a number of occasions throughout my life, that there is someone out there who will dislike you. You may not have done anything to harm or belittle this particular person directly, or you may not have done anything at all, but they still don't like you, and they let you know on a daily basis.

Some people would be bothered by this. You might try to confront that person, and interrogate them. "Why dont you like me?" ; "Whats your problem, anyhow?" ; "WTF?"…You might just talk about it with everyone else and try to find out this persons problem with you from another source, but that could stir up a bunch of propaganda such as "shit talking".

Some people might not be bothered by this. You might say "I don't care what anyone thinks of me and if they don't like me, that's their problem." In all honestly, I think those people are liars, or they just don't realize at the moment that it really does bother them. Nobody wants to be disliked, especially for no apparent reason.

Why don't some people like us? One reason could be our appearance. Is your hater a "preppy" guy and you "street punk"? This type of high school negatory attitude just doesn't fly in the real world. Another reason could be jealousy. It's been scientifically proven that when someone has something that someone else wants, that someone else will dislike that first person for no apparent reason, besides they want what they can't have, or don't have yet. Maybe someone wishes they were as pretty as someone else, or as rich, or could play the tuba as well.

To me, one thing to think about a lot, is that when someone doesn't like you, and they accuse you of being a certain way, or acting a certain way, they themselves are exactly the same. It's natural human instinct to point out our own flaws in other people. This is a bad example and I don't want any gay bashing comments to arise out of this, but when someone accuses someone else of being gay, most of the time they are just covering up their own sexual insecurity, and they are afraid of being called gay, so they do it to others so that if a third party notices, the third party won't do it back to them.

Sometimes we wish that we were just liked by everyone, and that every person in the world understood everything we did and said and thought and felt. But then we would be missing one big characteristic of humanity; having an opinion.
